Just before opening schools, the Istanbul Governor arrived for hours. In a statement of the Governor's Office, the first day of the 2025 20252026 school year, the opening time of the schools was determined to be 10.00 in all primary, secondary and high schools and private high schools.

In a written statement shared on the official internet address of the Governor's office, it was reminded that the school year 2025-2026 will start on Monday, September 8, 2025.In the press release, 3 million students and 171 thousand teachers across the province will start the course; “As you know, the 2025-2026 school year will start on Monday, September 8, 2025. 3 million students and 171,000 teachers will start the course, from the first day, 17,000 service and children on the 3rd. And the high schools in our province.”Circular in the “working schedule of the 2025-2026 school year” published with the signature of the National Minister of Education Yusuf Tekin has been sent to all provinces.The first semester in schools will start on Monday, September 8 and end on Friday, January 16, 2026. Grade 5 of secondary and Imam Hatip secondary schools, the preparation of secondary and 9th grade education organizations and students will stay in school, to support academic and professional development activities.The first semester will be held from November 10 to 14. The middle vacation will start on Monday, January 19, 2026 and will end on Friday, January 30, 2026. The second semester will start on Monday, February 2, 2026 and will be completed on Friday, June 26, 2026.
