On the holidays of May, the scammers activate programs with fake -skids, fake houses and frauds on behalf of banks. This has been announced by RIA Novosti by the Deputy State Deputy Duma, coordinator of the Digital Russia Anton Nemkin project. The attackers send links to fake websites to imitate popular stores with the excuse of “special offers for the victory day”.
The victims enter the card data, then the money is deleted and the goods are not delivered. The second most common scenario is fake housing rental: The scammers posted ads about home or apartment delivery at a bargain price, using photos and documents stolen from real advertising and after receiving the payment, they broke the connection. The third program is a scam on behalf of “public services” or banks. Tax accounts are recorded for fake personalities, Mr. Nemkin emphasized. To avoid fraud, the police officer advised not to make a prepaid transfer without checking the notifications through the official websites, not trading with SMS services.
