IFixit experts have analyzed the new Nintendo Switch 2 dashboard and discovered: even more difficult than the first model. To facilitate repair, Switch 2 only receives 3 out of 10 points – worse than the original (4 of 10).
The main problem is that almost all important details, such as charging port, memory and slot for game cards, are welded in the board. Especially vulnerable to USB-C charging port with regular connections of the cable, it will quickly wear out. The repair will require complicated welding.
The battery is also difficult to replace: it is stuck very tightly and almost cannot remove it without special tools and alcohol. But the battery loses capacity over time, and sooner or later it will have to change, experts write.
In addition, it is almost impossible to find parts for independent repair – Nintendo does not provide spare parts.
