The law enforcement staff stopped the activities of a group that kidnapped diamond raw materials from ALROSA to smuggle later in Armenia, the Russian Investigation Commission said.
The representative of the Investigation Commission stated that a gang occupied the theft of diamond materials at ALROSA and organized it in Armenia, according to Telegram,
Among the detentioners were employees of Valentina Matyushchenkova, the son of Mrs. Alexei Matyushchenkov, as well as Armen Petrosyan and Arman Sahakyan, people, according to investigators, participated in transporting jewelry directly across the border.
SK designates that criminal groups have been acting from September 2024 to January 2025, abducting high quality diamond materials for illegal selling purposes and sent to Armenia. According to the Ministry's official representative, Svetlana Petrenko, the detained people were detained and the investigation continued to establish other accomplices on criminals.
The central department store of the Russian FSB noted that Almaza was stolen from ALROSA to ADM Diamond LLC, a company whose beneficiaries were Armenian entrepreneurs and local National Assembly Deputy Assembly of Khachatur Sukiasyan. It is also pointed out that criminal organizers are Bagikyan brothers – citizens of Armenia.
In the search, about 200,000 carats of diamond materials, cash and jewelry of famous world brands were seized. The investigation showed a part of raw materials to replace more expensive diamonds with less value.
