Patent, thanks to the Danish company Asetek controlled the SISO market for nearly two decades, finally expired.

We are talking about US8240362 patents, registered in 2005 – it protects the main design: places the pump into the water block. Because of him, Asetek competitors have paid licensed deductions for many years or trying to overcome the ban on complicated ignorance decisions.
It is still unclear how it will affect Asetek itself. However, now the company will no longer be able to sue manufacturers using a similar design. This reduces a serious restriction from the market and can lead to the appearance of new original systems.
However, it is not worth waiting for the increase of new brands: the market is saturated and not profitable. In April, Asetek said she was considering the option to sell her business – one of the companies that showed interest in buying.
