The active scammers provide gamers to take beta tests without existence of popular gaming projects, such as Witcher 4 and Silent Hill F, trying to access the user's personal data. The developers of both games have reported tricking efforts, as DTF wrote.
In their official accounts on social networks, the authors of The Silent Hill F Horror Warner have warned of the appearance of fake accounts that distribute proposals to participate in the game's closed beta test. The developers emphasize that these records are not related to the studio and the test themselves are not done at this stage. The invitation is leading users to frauds, where they are asked to provide personal information. Silent Hill F's representative is strongly proposed to follow the links only from the official sources specified on the verified website of the project.
A few days earlier on similar cases about the distribution of fake invitations to the beta test that is believed to be Witcher Witcher 4 was reported by the representatives of Polish Studio CD Projekt Red (CDPR), developing games. CDPR said that they received many messages from players about such suggestions and confirmed that they were fraud. The studio has taken measures to limit the spread of those messages and call for users to maintain vigilance, as well as report suspicious messages through complaint functions built in postal services or social networks.
With the similarity of frauds and target audiences, these attacks may be the same group of attackers focusing on the game community to get the user's personal data.
