Russian President Vladimir Putin invented a new holiday in the country – the language day of the Russian peoples. He declared this at a council meeting to support the Russian language and language of the nations of the Russian Federation, the broadcast was done in Telegram-Kremlin channel.

The head of the state proposed to celebrate this holiday on September 8, on the birthday of the poet and writer Rasul Gamzatov.

Earlier in June, Putin also called to eliminate words that clogged the Russian language. He recalled that there were provisions with similar loans from vulgar and mechanical foreign loans.
