IPhone sales in China fell nearly 50%, reports of the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications. In the first quarter of 2025, Apple only sold 1.89 million devices, while a year earlier – more than 3.75 million. The company's market share in the market decreased from 16% to 8%.

The main reason is to increase competition from Chinese brands, especially Huawei. Thanks to Kirin's own chips and the next harmonious system with AI functions, Huawei won the first place at the rate of 19.4%. Next are Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo. Apple is now only fifth.
Apple, as the media, are trying to attract customers to the summer sales festival in China and discount, but so far the results are still weak.
In the context of failure in China, the company plans to focus on the Indian market, where the demand for smartphones continues to grow.
