A higher meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council can become a platform to sign a new trade agreement between Eaeu and Mongolia in June, the Russian Ambassador to Ulan-Bator Alexei Evsikov said.
In case of successful implementation of domestic procedures in EAEU and in Mongolia, a temporary trade agreement between them can be signed at the close meeting of the Asian Economic Council.
Evsikov said that in addition to Mongolia, some countries are working to create a free trade area with EAEU.
The diplomat said that the Trade Agreement temporarily provides preferential access to the Asian Economic Union of the Mongolian market for goods such as cereals, meat and dairy products, honey, vegetable oil, sugar, metallurgical products, mechanical vehicles, chemical products and tires.
According to Evsikov, such negotiations are being conducted with other countries. Agreement with the UAE is expected to sign before this year, at the final stage there is a similar document with Indonesia, consultations with Egypt, Tunisia and India are taking place. Thailand also announced its readiness.
Recalling that in May 2024, leaders of EAEU and Mongolian countries on the summit decided to start negotiating about the conclusion of a temporary transaction agreement.
As the newspaper had previously written, in recent months in Mongolia, they found a positive information campaign to break the conclusions of a temporary agreement with the Asian Economic Union, the first division director of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Michael Agasasan, said in May.
