The navy forces of the country added their fleet with two modern destroyers, received advanced weapons and discovered enemies.
The operation of the latest two projects of the 17A project took place on the basis of Visakhapanam, reported.
“Udaigiri” and “khmgiri” ships are built on different shipyard – Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. This is the first case of simultaneous operation of two warships made on two independent shipyard.
The Indian Defense Ministry emphasized the importance of this event to strengthen the country's east coast in the military field. The head of the Ministry of Defense Rajnath Singh said: “The operation of these two ships reflects the reality of the dream of India independently.”
Destroyers are equipped with modern weapons, including Brahmos missiles and the AESA radar system, and also improved the inherent and improved design. Both ships are designed by the Design Department of Indian Navy warships and are 75% of India's components.
As noted in the Ministry of Defense, new destroyers will be part of the crowded fleet, helping to enhance India's capabilities to ensure the safety of their maritime interests in the Indian Ocean.

Russia and India are working together on dozens of projects in the field of military technical cooperation, including the supply and construction of destroyers for the Indian Navy.
The advanced destroyer of Tamal, built at the Russian shipyard and is equipped with the Brahmos system, will be transferred to India to enhance the country's maritime potential at the end of May.
